Espadrilles- Clean and care guide

We know, you love your Shoqt espadrilles dearly!
We also want you that you wear them for a long time, so we have put together a few tips to clean and take care of them.

User guide Espadrilles- Do’s and Don’ts

Do’s
– Protect them from wet: Espadrilles are summer shoes and not suitable for rainy weather. If the shoes have become wet, you need to give them some time to dry. Also avoid too wet cleaning, because sooner or later the water gets into the sole and the sole dries very slowly.

– Repair the damage of the sole in time: Before cleaning the shoes, we recommend that you stick with silicone the esparto strips that might be loose.
– Give your shoes fresh air: Jute is a natural material and some soles are very think. Fresh air is always good: let the espadrilles air dry as much as possible to avoid bad smelling and humidity.

– Use a waterproof spray before first use and from time to time. This spray
creates an invisible, protective layer, so the shoes stay clean for a longer time while the fabric remains breathable.

– Use a deodorant spray for the inside of the shoe periodically to avoid unpleasant odors and promote shoe hygiene.

Don’ts
– Don’t throw the espadrilles into the washing machine. The soles of these shoes are wrapped in jute, which can unravel during the spin cycle.

– Do not put your espadrilles in the dryer: this may shrink your shoes and can also unravel the jute rope soles. Letting the espadrille canvas and soles naturally dry will result in the best outcome.

– Don’t expose the shoes to direct sunlight: just let them dry in the open air, without the sun going directly to them, otherwise the colors might fade.
